Now That's A Core!

See the big boulder to my right. It's been quarried for stone artefact raw material. If you zoom in you can see the negative flake scars along the boulder. I'm actually standing in the middle of a stone artefact blade quarry, where large flake blades (>10cm) were consistently manufactured for god knows how long. The raw material being targeted is part of a fine grained granophyre dyke that runs through the area. Just another nerdy day on the job! Posted by Picasa
