August 2007 - Dampier WA

I found myself in the field for the entire month of August. I was working on a project in northwest Australia near the town of Dampier. I took one day off in August to enjoy myself with my friend John Nicholson. John generously took me fishing out in the Dampier archipelago, which is just amazing. We saw mantarays, whales, and sea turtles all in one morning. There were reports of whale sharks in the area and some scuba divers made the most of swimming with these massive creatures.
